What this bill will do makes the title dubious
The title of this joint resolution implies that it would provide a mechanism to provide more jobs for military veterans.
Actually, it would allow some companies to avoid providing health benefits to their employees.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requires companies with 50 or more employees to provide health care insurance for their employees. This proposal would allow companies to not count veterans already eligible for health care through the Veterans Health Administration (VA) or TRICARE toward that number.
For example, a company with 50 employees would no longer need to provide health care insurance for any of its employees if one of those employees is an eligible veteran.
