What this bill does
This bill specified the way federal lands are to be managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Selling federal land must be in the public's interest
Defines the conditions under which federal land can be sold.
o The land is difficult or uneconomic to manage
o The land no longer serves the purpose for which it was acquired
o Selling the land will serve an important public objective
o The purchaser must be a U.S. citizen or corporation subject U.S. laws.

Competitive bidding is not required, and preference may be given to adjoining landowners.
Congress has the option to enact a concurrent resolution to express disapproval any sale.
