What this bill does

The bill created the Office of Government Ethics (OGE).

It requires those elected or appointed to high-level government positions provide financial disclosure to the OGE (which must be made available to the public).

It also requires the Attorney General to investigate certain allegations against the highest-level officials. The Attorney General then can have a special prosecutor appointed if there's merit to the allegations.
