This section is a general overview of health care as public policy
The purpose of this discussion is to explain the issue of health care as a public policy. If there are separate proposals on health care policy, we will explain our thoughts on those proposals separately.
How we evaluate health care policies
We intend to evaluate any policy we discuss based on how well it meets the following criteria...
o Providers will be compensated reasonably and promptly.
o The plan is economically sustainable - completely paid for by public dollars with no borrowing.
o The money to pay for the plan would be received using a formula that is equitable for all income levels.
o Anyone earning less than the top 10 percent of wage-earners will pay no more (and most likely less) than they now are paying for their health care.
We are advocating the American Health Security Act
