Adkins was a Frederick County, Virginia school board member who pleaded guilty to being in the U.S. Capitol for more than an hour during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack.

While in the Capitol, he drank beer and "danced around in the middle of a group of rioters, yelling, and chanting."

Recidivism Update:
In 2014, Adkins was convicted in Florida of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. In 2022 he was arrested in Virginia for Driving While Intoxicated.

During the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol., Alam was in the hallway leading to the Speaker's Lobby and helped shatter one of the windows that Ashli Babbitt was climbing through when she was fatally shot by a police officer.

He was convicted on several charges related to his actions.

Recidivism Update:
Alam was arrested for home invasion.

Threw a plastic bottle and a metal pole at officers. Each struck an officer.
Struck officers' riot shields with a long, thick wooden pole he had picked up.
Stabbed an officer's helmet using the wooden pole, then threw the pole at officers.
Pepper sprayed officers, then threw the empty canister at them.
Threw a baseball bat at officers.
Picked up an officer's riot shield and used it to strike officers.
Threw a metal scaffolding pipe at officers, striking one on the head and neck.
Threw a heavy speaker toward a group of officers.

Recidivism Update:
In 2023, Atwood was arrested for stabbing a man. He pleaded guilty in 2023.

Daniel Charles Ball

In addition to illegally entering the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack, Ball was charged with assaulting police officers and using an explosive.

He also was charged with attempting to profit from a piece of a window shutter taken from the Capitol.

On Jan. 21, 2025 the court dismissed the charges related to the Jan. 6 attack with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration.

Recidivism Update:
Ball was arrested for illegally possessing a gun and ammunition in 2023. The acting U.S. attorney in Florida moved to dismiss the charges, saying they would have been included in Trump's blanket pardon of Jan. 6 defendants. Ball had a previous record of domestic violence.

Banuelos was indicted for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

According to the indictment and photo evidence...

Wearing a TRUMP 2020 cowboy hat, he forcefully pushed against officers to enter the Capitol. He also raised his jacket to reveal what appeared to be a firearm.

He climbed the scaffolding at the Capitol and raised the gun over his head. He fired two shots into the sky.

On Jan. 22, 2025, the case against Banuelos was dismissed without prejudice in light of the blanket pardon issued by President Donald Trump.

Recidivism Update:
Banuelos was arrested for a 2018 violent sexual assault that lasted for 12 hours.

Bryan Betancur

Betancur pleaded guilty to entering and remaining in the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack.

He was on probation at the time for a 2019 burglary conviction. He had obtained permission from his parole officer by claiming he wanted to leave the state (Maryland) to distribute bibles in Washington, D.C..

During the attack he was wearing a yellow and black jacket, a mask, and a Proud Boys t-shirt. He also wore a required ankle monitor - which is how he was caught.

Among other things, Betancur stood on scaffolding holding a corner of a Confederate battle flag. While inside the Capitol, he held a "TRUMP" flag and helped rioters remove a chair from the building.

He posted videos of himself flashing a hand signal commonly used by white supremacy groups.

Betancur previously had used the "distributing bibles" excuse in 2020 to attend a pro-Trump rally as part of the Proud Boys.

Betancur legally added "Battisti" to his last name in 2023. He also has used the names Bryan Clooney and Maximo Clooney.

Recidivism Update:
Betancur was arrested for assaulting a person at a Washington D.C, Metro station. He also had faced charges in 2024 for violating an anti-stalking order.

He also was charged with attacking a police officer with a broken table leg.

On Jan. 22, 2025 the court dismissed the charges against Desjardins with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration.

Recidivism Update:
Desjardins pleaded guilty in 2023 to shooting a man in Rhode Island. The bullet grazed the victim's head. He also initiated an armed standoff with the Providence, RI police department.

Assaulting police officers with a dangerous weapon

Grant pleaded guilty to or was convicted of several charges relating to the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He was one of the first people to breach the Capitol, and one of the first to violently assault police officers. He helped - along with rioter Ryan Samsel - lift linked metal bike-rack barricades - pushing them into the line of police.

During the hours he remained in the building, he pushed up against another police line, climbed through a broken window by the Senate wing door, and entered a senator's office.

Recidivism Update:
Grant was arrested in 2022 for illegally possessing an assault weapon and ammunition that were found while investigating him for driving while intoxicated.

While entering the Capitol, Huttle forcibly jabbed a flagpole into an officer's stomach, knocking him down and causing serious injuries. He later struck another officer with the flagpole.

Huttle also attempted to grab an officer's gas mask and grabbed the officers baton attempting to rip it away.

Huttle was the uncle of Matthew Huttle.

Kelley was convicted of assaulting a police officer during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Kelly entered the Capitol wearing a gas mask and tactical helmet. While entering, he and two other men threw a police officer to the ground.

While inside, he used a wood plank to smash the window next to the Senate Wing door.

On Jan. 22, 2025 - before he could be sentenced - the court dismissed his case with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration.

Recidivism Update:
Kelly was convicted for threatening to kill the FBI agents who had investigated him for the Jan. 6 attack. He has appealed to Trump claiming that this should be included as part of Trump's blanket pardon.

According to the indictment, Lang repeatedly pushed, punched, and kicked at police officers inside the Capitol. He also slammed a door against one officer's head and struck officers with a metal baseball bat and stolen riot shield.

On Jan. 21, 2025 the case against Lang was dismissed with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration.

Recidivism Update:
At a demonstration 5 years after the January 6 attack, Lang was arrested for harassing and threatening one of the officers he allegedly attacked inside the Capitol.

Jeanette Mangia

Mangia was indicted for her role in the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

She is married to Joseph Pastucci.

According to the indictment and Pastucci's guilty plea, Mangia posed in Rep. Nancy Pelosi's office while Pastucci took a photo of her. She also examined senators' papers in the Senate chamber.

When officers attempted to eject them from the Capitol, Mangia fell to the ground kicking and flailing at officers. When one carried her out, she kicked him in the groin and shoved him.

Mangie pleaded not guilty, then failed to appear for her status hearing. She was arrested in July 2024, but on Jan. 21, 2025, the court ordered the case dismissed without prejudice

To enter the building, he had to push past a police officer. He also fought to remain inside as officers were using force to eject him.

He made several false statements while testifying at his trial.

Martin pleaded guilty in 2016 to repeatedly striking his 14-year-old daughter and in 2021 to choking his girlfriend and dragging her back into the house when she tried to flee. He also was convicted in 2024 of illegally possessing firearms and more than 500 rounds of ammunition.

After illegally entering the Capitol, he used a large wooden stick to repeatedly srike and stab two officers in the face, head, neck, and body.

Recidivism Update:
Mellis has several prior convictions - including for assaulting a family member and conspiracy to manufacture and sell Methamphetamine.

Moynihan was one of the first to illegally enter the U.S, Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack, breaking through the security perimiter.

After briefly entering the Senate Gallery, he entered a senator's office, where he went through that senator's documents and took pictures with his cellphone.

While looking through the papers, he said, "There's gotta be something in here we can fucking use against these scumbags."

Recidivism Update:
Moynihan was arrested for threatening to kill Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.

Ryan Taylor Nichols

Nichols pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

While holding a crowbar and encouraging the crowed to push against officers guarding the Capitol, Nichols pepper sprayed officers. He then entered the building through a smashed window.

Recidivism Update:
Nichols was arrested and charged with threatening someone with a pistol.

Packer illegally entered the Capitol wearing a "Camp Auschwitz" hoodie.

He was part of a crowd in verious locations including the hallway where rioters destroyed the sign containing Rep. Nancy Pelosi's name. He also was nearby when rioter Ashli Babbitt was shot.

Recidivism Update:
Packer was arrested for allowing his dogs to maul several people. Four required hospitalization.

Joseph Martin Pastucci

Assaulting police officers

Pastucci pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He is married to Jeannette Mangia.

Wearing a "Veterans for Trump" hat, Pastucci marched toward the Capitol carrying a sign reading "FUCK BLM & ANTIFA STOP THE STEAL NOW! YOU TYRANT BASTARDS!!!"

While inside the Capitol building, he entered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office and took a picture of Mangia posing in a chair.

They eventually made their way to the Senate Chamber where he and Mangia examined senators' documents. While leaving, they had a physical encounter with officers that included shoving an officer and were forced out of the building.

They returned, but then left due to effects of chemical agents in the air.

Recidivism Update:
In 2023, Pastucci was charged with raping a woman. In July 2025 the charges were dropped because his accuser could not be located.

Rheiner was part of a mob that pushed their way through a line of police officers in order to enter the Capitol building. Waving other rioters to come forward and "push up" on the line, he pulled a riot shield out of an officer's hands.

He also defied officers inside the building, yelling, "We're not backing up!"

Recidivism Update:
Prior to the attack on the Capitol, Rheiner had several criminal issues that included convictions for burglary (2019) and indecent exposure (2007).

He entered the Capitol wearing tactical gear - including a helmet, tinted goggles, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, and a camouflage vest.

He faught police for almost 2 hours, which included taking a riot shield, a metal baton, and helmets from officers. He also attacked officers with a white board and a wooden pole that was longer than 2 yards.

Recidivism Update:
Richmond has previous convictions, including a 2004 conviction for manslaughter while serving in the Army for shooting a hand-cuffed Iraqi in the head.

Samsel was convicted of assaulting a police officer during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He was the first rioter to breach the restricted Capitol grounds. He helped other rioters lift a metal barricade and push it into the line of officers.

One officer was struck in the face and stumbled backwards. She hit her head twice - once on a metal handrail and once on the steps behind her - and still suffers from long-term effects.

Samsel also assaulted police with his "Rambo Trump" flag, grabbed another officer's shield, hurled a wooden plank at a police line, and threw a pole at another police line.

On Jan. 21, 2025, before he could be sentenced, the case was dismissed with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration

Peter Schwartz

Schwartz was convicted of assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Among his actions, Schwartz threw a folding chair at officers, and later boasted to a friend that he “started a riot” by “throwing the first chair.”

He also stole a police backpack with pepper stray canisters, and helped spray officers.

Recidivism Update:
Schwartz had several convictions for violent crimes before the Jan 6 attack - including domestic violence, gun violence, and attacking a security officer.

Alan Michael St. Onge

St. Onge pleaded guilty to fighting police officers and tearing down barricades that were protecting the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack there.

Recidivism Update:
In 2023, St. Onge was arrested for assaulting two people in a bar - which included punching a woman in the throat and kicking a man and stomping on his chest. He was indentified because he paid his tab with a credit card and presented ID.

Taake pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers with a metal whip and pepper spray during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Recidivism Update:
Taake was arrested on a previous charge of soliciting sex with a minor. The Harris County District Attorney had sent a a copy of Taake's outstanding warrant to the federal government five days before Donald Trump pardoned him.

Taylor Franklin Taranto

In addition to illegally entering the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack, Taranto was charged with carrying a pistol without a license and possession of a "large capacity ammunition feeding device".

On Feb 12, 2025 the court dismissed the charges related to the Jan. 6 attack with prejudice at the request of the Trump administration.

Recidivism Update:
Taranto was convicted of illegally possessing guns and ammunition in his van near former President Barack Obama's Washington, D.C. home. He also was convicted of threatening to blow up the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Webster - a retired police officer - was convicted of assaulting a police officer during the Jan 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

While entering the Capitol, Webster shoved a metal gate into the officer’s body. He forcefully swung a flagpole toward the officer. The officer managed to wrest the flagpole away. Webster then broke through the metal barricade, tackled the officer to the ground, and tried to remove his helmet and gas mask, choking him. During this attack, the officer struggled to breathe.

Daniel Edwin Wilson

Conspiracy to impede or injure an officer

Wilson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to impede or injure a police officer during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Wilson entered the Capitol wearing a gas mask. He walked around the inside of the building, eventually removing the gas mask. He left the building less than 15 minutes after entering.

The charges stem from conversations he had prior to Jan. 6 and that he owned firearms illegally due to a previous conviction.

Recidivism Update:
Wilson received a second pardon from Trump for a firearms charge unrelated to his Jan. 6 actions.

Jared Lane Wise

Wise was indicted for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

While illegally inside the Capitol, Wise cheered on rioters assaulting police officers - yelling "Yeah, fuck them! Yeah, kill 'em!" and "Kill 'em! Kill 'em! Kill 'em!".

On Jan. 21, 2025 the case against Wise was dismissed at the request of the Trump administration.

Shane Jason Woods

Woods pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

While observing the officer chasing an individual who had sprayed her with a chemical irritant, Woods "lowered his shoulder and rammed into Officer J.F., knocking her off her feet and sending her crashing into a downed bicycle barricade."

He also assaulted a journalist who was attempting to walk away from the Capitol grounds. Woods "took a running start and hit G.P. with a blindside shoulder-tackle, knocking G.P. to the ground and causing him to drop his camera."

Recidivism Update:
Woods was convicted of reckless homicide. On Nov. 8, 2022, he drove his GMC Sierra the wrong way on an interstate, killing a 35-year-old woman.

Yates pleaded guilty to his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Yates pushed away barricades in order to enter the Capitol. While inside, he joined other rioters in entering the Rotunda, pumping his fist as they surged forward.

After being escorted out of the building, he remained on the restricted Capitol grounds.

Recidivism Update:
Yates was arrested in a prostitution sting.

Joseph Howe

Howe pleaded guilty assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021 terror attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He entered the Capitol wearing a tactical vest, a respirator mask, and goggles. Once inside, he...

Grabbed a riot shield from an officer, allowing the officer to be attacked by other rioters. The officer suffered a concussion and head trauma requiring hospitalization.

Grabbed a bike rack barrier from an officer and helped pass it back into the crowd behind him. He also took a police baton from an officer.

Forcefully kicked the Senate Wing Door in order to breach the wing.

Grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed its chemical agent toward officers - one of whom reported being sprayed in the eyes.

During a 2021 interiew with the FBI, he falsely told them he never entered the Capitol on Jan. 6.
